Scholarship Program for Outstanding Graduate Students
at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment

The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment is offering scholarships to outstanding research track graduate students, starting in the 2020-2021 academic year.

Outstanding undergraduate students (avg. 90 or higher), who chose to study for a master's degree in one of the Faculty's research tracks, will receive a monthly scholarship of 6000 NIS plus tuition, for a period of two years (200%).

Students who began their graduate studies in the spring semester of 2020 will receive a scholarship for only 3 semesters. Acceptance to the master's program requires consent from the department and finding a thesis advisor prior to registering for studies. Scholarship recipients will commit to full time research, unless their department or institute requires them to work as teaching assistants. They are required to fulfil all academic requirements during the time allotted for their graduate thesis.

Recipients will be chosen by the Faculty Scholarship Committee. To apply, candidates must present a recommendation from their advisor. Some students may also be invited for an interview.

Candidacy is to be submitted online. The deadline for registration is June 15, 2020.

Required documents:
  • Confirmation of enrollment  – 2020-2021
  • Printout of undergraduate grades
  • CV
  • Short personal letter explaining why you think you should be a scholarship recipient (personal background, motivation to research, social activity)
  • A short description of your research
  • Your advisor’s recommendation
